About the Game

When the ACC football championship was awarded to Charlotte late in 2007 it signified a move by the ACC to locate the game in the geographic hub of the conference.

Following five years Florida, the 2010 Atlantic Coast Conference Dr. Pepper Football Championship Game marks the first time that the conferences premier football event will take place in the state of North Carolina.

On December 4th, 2010 the champions from the Atlantic and Coastal division of the ACC will play for the right to represent the ACC with an automatic bid the Bowl Championship Series.

Charlotte, North Carolina is located in the geographic heart of the Atlantic Coast Conference in a city that has deep roots with the league and its member institutions. Providing easy access, by car or by plane, the city also offers a first rate football facility.

Bank of America Stadium, home to the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, offers one of the premier football facilities in the country. The facility is familiar to many ACC fans, having hosted the Meineke Car Care Bowl since the game’s inception as well as numerous neutral site regular season college football games.

With a great facility, a thriving uptown arts and entertainment scene, a passion for college athletics and  a location accessible to all ACC fans...Charlotte is ready for 2010.
