Bank Of America Stadium

Located in the Center City of Charlotte, Bank of America Stadium has been specifically designed for football by HOK Sports Facilities Group of Kansas City, MO. The 73,787 seat, open-air stadium is the year-round home of the Carolina Panthers. The stadium complex includes training facilities, practice fields and administrative offices.

The stadium facade features many unique elements, such as massive arches and towers at the entries, all clad in building materials accenting the team colors of black, silver and Panthers blue. The stadium playing field has a Bermuda grass surface. Adjacent to the stadium are three practice fields, two Bermuda grass and one artificial turf.

Playing Field

The stadium’s state-of-the-art playing field is Bermuda grass and features sophisticated drainage and irrigation systems. The field is designed to drain instantly, regardless of the amount of precipitation. Draining at 10-12 inches per hour with a 10-inch crown, the field guarantees a suitable playing surface. The field was designed to accommodate a regulation-size soccer field.

Press Box

The press box, located on the 50-yard line on the 400 level, has seating for 200 people. Each seat in the press box has a phone/data jack. Copy and fax machines are available in a separate work room. Media can be fed buffet style in the press box, and there are additional feeding capabilities on the field level (000 level).

Network

Bank of America Stadium has 11 broadcast booths, located just off of the press box, with audio and video capabilities. Included in the seven booths is the network broadcast booth, measuring 17 feet wide and 17 feet deep and located on the 50-yard line.
The network truck bay can accommodate two broadcast trucks up to 52 feet in total length. Located just outside the network truck bay are six pedestals for satellite uplink trucks. Each pedestal has 12 audio connections, six video connections and one tri-ax connection. The stadium also has Time Warner fiber optics and Vivix capabilities.
There are 26 pre-wired camera locations inside the seating bowl with the capability to add several more positions depending on need.

PantherVision

PantherVision controls all of the video boards, message boards and the sound system in the stadium. PantherVision is also a member of the Information Display and Entertainment Association, an international association of electronic display system and scoreboard operators which represents teams, public facilities, manufacturers and suppliers worldwide.

Both end zones are equipped with a scoreboard that is 40 feet high and 210 feet long. The scoreboards are designed to be visible from any seat in the seating bowl and to expand the fans’ game-viewing experience through on-scoreboard animations and replays.

Viewing Distance

The first row of seating along the sidelines is located 50 feet from the sideline. The first row of seating in the end zone is 20 feet from the back of the end zone. All seats are designed for optimal viewing angles.
